It’s a good question. Especially since, up until recently, I had never even heard of the Panthers. Granted, I was never much of a sports fan to begin with. I didn’t get my television through places like directstartv.com or whatever so I didn’t have access to all those fancy sports channels, and even if I did I wouldn’t have watched them. I knew about a lot of the headline making teams. I knew about the Red Sox, and the Yankees and I even knew a little bit about the Orioles. What I didn’t know was about this local minor league baseball team known as the Milwaukee Panthers or their importance to the sport?

To sum up the history of the team in as few words as possible would be to call them the quintessential underdog story and be done with it. However, such would be doing their reputation and their legacy a disservice and while they may not have been the best baseball team that ever played, one thing they had more than many of the mainstream teams in this day and age was heart. You would never find a team with as much spirit and tenacity as the Panthers and that’s what’s so great about them.

The Milwaukee Panthers are a local minor league team for the city. The team plays on a minor league circuit, and many players from the team, eventually end up entering the major league circuit after notable performances, and after a few years playing in the minors to improve thier skill set and maturity levels, and reach thier peak performance.

Milwaukee needs the Panthers for the city and the fans. Sports are the most universal way for individuals of all backgrounds, ages, gender, and all walks of life, to communicate with each other, and be able to bond. A sporting event can bring individuals of all backgrounds and all social classes together, and during those three hours of a game, everyone at the game is a fan, and gets to bond with others in thier city.

The Panthers give fans of baseball a great opportunity to join together at the stadium for a night, and forget about the rest of thier stresses during the week. Going to games allows fans to relax, unwind, and get together for a good time with family, friends, and all other fans of the game. The Panthers have a history in the city of Milwaukee, and is a great way to bring fans together for a good time. The information party rocks on: Closer role still a work in progress

The Milwaukee Panthers is a baseball team that plays for the University of Michigan at Milwaukee. The college is a Division I school, and is actually the only Division I school located in the state of Wisconsin. Their team colors are black and gold and compete in the Horizon Conference, a conference consisting of several other Midwest colleges. The Milwaukee Panthers had their inaugural season in 1957, a little over 50 years ago. They play the majority of their home games on Henry Aaron Field, a field named the famous baseball player, Henry Aaron. The baseball team was not founded by an individual man; rather, it was elected to become a sport by the University. However, a single man did coach the Panthers their very first year, and continued to coach them for a total of 14 years. While he did not have a career winning percentage above .500, he did lay the groundwork for a team that would become very successful and a competitive team for the next 50 years. This man’s name was Bill Ritter. Despite the sport’s slow start, the Milwaukee Panthers have several conference championships to their name and several NCAA Division I National Championship appearances.

The Milwaukee Panthers baseball team is an NCAA Division I baseball team located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They play for the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee and are the only Division 1 college baseball team located in the entire state. Their team colors are black and gold and play in the Horizon Conference. The Milwaukee Panthers have been around for 54 years, as they were founded in the year 1957. They have had only two different home fields over the course of those 54 years. They play the majority of their games at Henry Aaron Field, which was opened in 1957 along with the birth of the baseball team. However, the team has also played several games at Miller Park, the home stadium of the Milwaukee Brewers, a local professional baseball team. Bill Ritter was the first man to coach the brand new Milwaukee baseball team. He, nor any of the four coaches after him, was unable to post a career .500 winning percentage. However, a man by the name of Jerry Augustine became coach in 1997 and had one of the most successful coaching runs in the school’s history. He led the Milwaukee Panthers to their only two conference championships.
