When Did The The Milwaukee Panthers Baseball Team Begin
The Milwaukee Panthers baseball team is an NCAA Division I baseball team located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They play for the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee and are the only Division 1 college baseball team located in the entire state. Their team colors are black and gold and play in the Horizon Conference. The Milwaukee Panthers have been around for 54 years, as they were founded in the year 1957. They have had only two different home fields over the course of those 54 years. They play the majority of their games at Henry Aaron Field, which was opened in 1957 along with the birth of the baseball team. However, the team has also played several games at Miller Park, the home stadium of the Milwaukee Brewers, a local professional baseball team. Bill Ritter was the first man to coach the brand new Milwaukee baseball team. He, nor any of the four coaches after him, was unable to post a career .500 winning percentage. However, a man by the name of Jerry Augustine became coach in 1997 and had one of the most successful coaching runs in the school’s history. He led the Milwaukee Panthers to their only two conference championships.
